Ten individuals were arrested on Good Friday for engaging in illegal cockfighting in Barangay Saint Francis 2, Limay, Bataan, police said.

According to Col. Marites A. Salvadora, Bataan provincial police director, the suspects were caught in the act during an intelligence-driven operation conducted by the Limay Municipal Police Station and the Bataan Provincial Intelligence Unit.

The raid took place at Purok 4, Barangay St. Francis 2, around midday on 18 April 2025.

Recovered from the scene were two live fighting cocks, two dead fighting cocks, six pairs of gaffs, and P2,500 in bet money.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Limay Police Station for proper disposition. Coordination with the local government unit is underway for the issuance of citation tickets and the imposition of corresponding fines.
