Alex Eala and Katie Volynets of the United States suffered an early exit in the women's doubles of the Oeiras Ladies Open after a 6-3, 6-4 loss in the Round of 16 against the American duo of Carmen Corley and Christina Rosca at the Centro Desportivo Nacional do Jamor in Oeiras, Portugal Wednesday evening (Manila time).
Eala and Volynets, who competed against each other last March in the Miami Open, couldn't get the win against the No. 4 seed pair after competing for one hour and 13 minutes.
Eala, 19, missed out on the potential to win two titles in this competition.
The Rafael Nadal Academy graduate will continue with her singles run as she faces Panna Udvardy of Hungary in the Last 16 on Thursday at the same venue.
