At the third Star Magic Spotlight press conference on 11 April, Entrata took center stage not just as a celebrity, but as a woman rediscovering her strength, purpose and dreams.

The actress, singer and former Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner made headlines as she opened up about her recent absences from the spotlight, revealing a deeply personal reason behind her on-and-off presence in showbiz. In a heartfelt moment, Maymay shared the emotional toll of watching her mother and grandmother, two women who raised her, battle serious medical issues.

“Andito ako sa point na hangga’t may oras ako na makapiling ko yung dalawang nanay ko, gagawin ko — palipad-lipad man ako sa Cagayan de Oro o Japan, paulit-ulit gagawin ko po. Sobrang mahal na mahal ko po sila. ’Yun yung dahilan kung bakit on and off ako sa showbiz nitong mga nakaraang taon (As long as I have time to be with my two mothers, I will do it. Whether I’m flying to Cagayan de Oro or Japan, I will do it over and over again. I love them so much. That’s the reason why I’ve been on and off showbiz these past few years),” she shared, her voice heavy with sincerity.

Even through life’s tough seasons, Maymay’s brilliance as an artist never faded. Her candidness only added to her charm, proving why fans have always been drawn to her genuine personality.

Maymay also offered her take on the ongoing PBB Collab Edition, urging compassion over criticism amid controversies. “Sino ba naman po tayo para hindi bigyan ng chance ‘yung mga taong nagkakasala… Sana instead of pulling people down, why not just help each other up to be better? (Who are we to not give a chance to those who sin… Hopefully instead of pulling people down, why not just help each other up to be better),” she said, reflecting her growth not only as a celebrity but as a voice of kindness in an increasingly critical world.

Beyond acting and hosting, Maymay continues to carve her niche in music. From her viral hit “Amakabogera” to her newest milestone, being chosen to sing the Filipino version of the Disney classic Snow White theme song “Nasaan ang Hiling?,” her versatility shines.

Maymay described the opportunity as surreal: “Una, nung sinabi sa’kin, talagang hindi ako makapaniwala… And knowing Disney, alam natin lahat ‘yan, lahat ng Disney princesses, very timeless ‘yung story nila. And for me to be a part of it… dream come true talaga sa’kin (First, when they told me, I really couldn’t believe it… And knowing Disney, we all know that—all the Disney princesses, their stories are very timeless. And for me to be a part of it… it was a dream come true for me).”

With her voice coached to perfection for the theatrical piece, Maymay felt as if she stepped into a fairy tale, if only for a song.

The press conference also revealed more exciting chapters in her journey. Maymay will star in the upcoming Netflix mini-series Happy Crush, directed by Carlo Catu, and is set to release a new album titled Reborn. The album features her latest single “Paradise” and a self-penned song born from an international music camp experience, signaling her aspirations for global recognition.

It’s more than just a career comeback. Reborn is Maymay’s personal anthem. “’Yung Reborn, hindi lang siya title, parang ‘remember me’ ba doon sa darkest moments na pinagdaanan ko, na kaya ko pa rin pala bumangon… kaya ko pa rin pala mabuo ulit yung sarili ko (Reborn, it’s not just a title, it’s like ‘remember me’ in the darkest moments I went through, that I could still get up... that I could still rebuild myself).”

And as her story unfolds, one thing is certain: Maymay is ready to rise even higher.
