Fifteen micro-establishment owners in Calabarzon received P350,000 worth of livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
During a job fair and services caravan held on 4 April in Rizal, the Labor department awarded the livelihood aid to micro-establishment owners engaged in industries such as welding, furniture crafting, bag production, and food services.
The job fair was also participated by nine local employers, offering nearly 800 job vacancies.
Among 215 individuals who were also graduates of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), 55 received jobs on the spot — some starting employment as early as the next day.
In a similar event held on 22 March, DOLE organized a job fair at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City, Laguna, connecting jobseekers with 25 local employers offering 4,282 job vacancies.
Out of the 88 registered jobseekers, 45 were hired on the spot, which were mostly graduates of the 4Ps, while 19 were considered near-hires.
Meanwhile, a total of P1.12 million in cash assistance was disbursed to 200 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
