Senator Christopher “Bong” Go was recognized as the Most Outstanding Public Servant during the World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA) held on 10 April at The Heritage Hotel in Manila.
The awards ceremony celebrated achievers from diverse fields, with Go personally receiving the honor and expressing gratitude to the organizers and fellow awardees.
“Unang-una, sa lahat ng mga awardees, congratulations po sa inyong lahat. It is truly an honor to be recognized tonight as the Most Outstanding Public Servant by this prestigious award-giving body. I am deeply humbled by this recognition. Thank you very much,” Senator Go said in his acceptance speech.
Go emphasized that public service remains his commitment regardless of accolades. “With or without an award, my duty is to serve the Filipino people. Sipag, pagmamalasakit, at more serbisyo po ang puwede kong ialay,” he added.
The senator acknowledged WCEJA officials for their efforts in recognizing excellence and encouraging perseverance among professionals and public servants. He mentioned founder and CEO Emma C. Toba, VP for Operations Fatima Lajota, auditor Florie Cawile, secretary Vivian Yjares, and board members Obet Serrano, Joey Sarmiento, and Edwin Pagatpat.
“I would like to commend all the organizers for this meaningful initiative. Your recognition of individuals from diverse fields is a powerful way of celebrating talent, passion, and dedication,” Go said.
The World Class Excellence Japan Awards honors professionals, artists, and philanthropists whose contributions are seen as exemplary in their respective fields. Organizers emphasized the importance of promoting talent and encouraging growth within industries.
For Senator Go, the award represents not just personal achievement but a reminder of the collective efforts of those working behind the scenes.
“Receiving the award is not just a symbol of recognition. It is a reminder of the responsibilities we are carrying as public servants. This honor inspires me to work harder, serve with greater sincerity, and continue bringing public service closer to the people, especially to the poor, the hopeless, and the needy Filipinos,” he said.
He reiterated his continued commitment to service: “With or without this award, I will continue to serve the Filipino people to the best of my capacity. My heart will always be in genuine public service, quietly working on the ground, and listening to our kababayans and responding to their needs.”
Senator Go closed his speech by encouraging fellow awardees to inspire and serve with compassion. “I encourage you to continue striving for excellence and use your platforms to inspire others,” he said.
