Heavily armed suspect collared in Arayat

ARAYAT, Pampanga — A heavily armed suspect was arrested during a search warrant implementation at Purok 5, San Mateo Road, Barangay San Mateo of this town Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as alias “Baby Ambo” and was arrested for violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The operation was led by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office, with assistance from RIU3, SWAT Pampanga, the 2nd and 1st PMFC, RID3, Arayat MPS, and the Tactical Support Company of RMFB3.

The search warrant, numbered 25-13, was issued by Hon. Robert Alexander Razon Malig, executive judge of the Regional Trial Court in San Fernando City, Pampanga, on 7 April 2025.

Alias “Baby Ambo” was arrested, and several firearms and ammunition were recovered from his home. Among the seized items were an M16 COLT rifle with a serial number, multiple magazines for rifles and pistols, a rifle grenade, camouflage clothing, a knife with a scabbard, and large amounts of live ammunition for 5.56mm and .45 caliber firearms, as well as shotgun shells.

Police Col. Jay C. Dimaandal, Provincial director of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office, said, “We reiterate our commitment to intensifying our campaign against loose firearms and armed criminality in the province. To those who continue to possess illegal weapons and operate outside the bounds of the law, let this serve as a warning: the full force of the law will be brought upon you.”
