The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported Monday a 23.63 percent decrease in index crimes in Metro Manila from 1 January to 4 April.
Data from the crime incident recording and analysis system showed a significant decline in index crimes, from 1,710 incidents during the same period last year to 1,305 this year. Index crimes typically include serious offenses such as murder, robbery and theft.
The NCRPO also reported a 99.78 percent overall crime clearance efficiency and a 95.88 percent crime solution efficiency, indicating improved case management and investigative processes.
Notably, the solution efficiency specifically for index crimes rose from 68.77 percent to 72.03 percent.
In a separate accomplishment, the NCRPO said it apprehended 3,683 drug suspects and seized illegal drugs valued at P145 million during the same period.
Between 1 January and 4 April 2025, NCRPO operatives conducted 2,386 anti-drug operations, leading to the confiscation of an estimated P145,875,862.80 worth of illegal drugs.
The seized substances included 21,273.25 grams of suspected shabu valued at P144,658,100; 7,977.69 grams of marijuana valued at P957,322.80; 17.30 grams of cocaine valued at P91,690 and 112.50 grams of kush valued at P168,750.
