A high-value target was arrested, resulting in the seizure of P372,368 worth of illegal drugs during an anti-drug operation in Taguig City this week.

Reports showed that anti-drug operatives of Taguig City seized 54.76 grams of suspected shabu during a 10 p.m. operation along General Luna Street, Barangay Ususan.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Toryo,” is a 40-year-old unemployed male and a resident of Mariano Street, Barangay Ususan.

The operation was carried out by personnel from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Taguig City Police Station, led by P/Col. Joey T. Goforth, chief of police.

During the buy-bust, police operatives successfully transacted with the suspect, leading to his immediate arrest.

Confiscated from alias “Toryo” were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic sachet, all containing suspected shabu; one genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money along with four pieces of P1,000 boodle money; and a coin purse.

The suspect was brought to the SDEU for proper documentation and medical examination at Taguig-Pateros District Hospital.

The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory analysis. A complaint for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
