Ginjiiro Shigeoka, brother of the Japanese fighter Melvin Jerusalem soundly beat last Monday, has made a declaration of war on him and International Boxing Federation minimumweight champion Pedro Taduran.
Reports reaching the Philippines say that Ginjiro, who faces Taduran on 24 May in Osaka, is determined to get even with the Filipino banger.
“I can now do the boxing I want to do. I’ll hit him without letting him hit me. I want to show him that I’ve leveled up aside from targeting revenge against Taduran,” said Ginjiro, who lost on a ninth-round stoppage last July in Otsu City.
If he gets his revenge, Ginjiiro said he would go after Jerusalem, who just defeated Yudai on a lopsided verdict for the World Boxing Council strap.
“If I win this match, I’d like to aim to unify the four belts. I’m going to beat Jerusalem.”
Puerto Rican Oscar Collazo holds the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization 105-pound belts.
Jerusalem and Taduran are the country’s only two world champions and are likewise dreaming of unifying all the belts in the division.
