The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said Sunday it conducted a month-long wire clearing operation along Andrews Avenue in Pasay City to improve traffic flow for motorists traveling to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Meralco vice president and head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga said the clearing of dangling wires around the airport is particularly important with an expected increase in travelers during the upcoming Holy Week.
“The clearing operations of dangling wires in our facilities around NAIA is important especially with the expected surge of travelers who will pass through the area during the upcoming Holy Week,” Zaldarriaga said in a statement.
Meralco said it continuously works with local government units to conduct anti-urban blight operations across its service area as part of its commitment to public safety. The company also stated that these efforts help ensure the delivery of safe, stable and reliable electricity service to its eight million customers.
