Actress and TV host Anne Curtis recently treated her fans to a virtual escape as she explored the enchanting island of Siquijor, known for its pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and mystical traditions.
Taking to Instagram, the actress and television host shared a series of breathtaking snapshots, capturing the island’s natural beauty and ethereal charm.
"Isla del Fuego & the island of healing," she wrote in her caption, referring to Siquijor’s Spanish moniker, which translates to "Island of Fire." The name is said to have originated from the eerie glow of fireflies that once illuminated the island’s coastal shores at night.
Her photos showcased her immersive experience, from soaking in picturesque seascapes and uncovering local gems to visiting the famous centuries-old balete tree, believed to have spiritual significance. She also took part in tuob, a traditional herbal steam therapy practiced by locals, which is said to cleanse the body, ward off illness, and drive away negative energy.
Her adventure came as a brief break from her current commitments. She is currently in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental — an island neighboring Siquijor — filming the Philippine adaptation of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, where she takes on the lead role in the much-anticipated series.
Aside from this, the actress is also gearing up for an intense, action-packed film project directed by Erik Matti, alongside actor Gerald Anderson.
This upcoming film marks a special reunion for Anne and Matti, following their critically acclaimed 2018 action-thriller BuyBust, which earned international recognition for its gripping storytelling and high-octane action sequences.
