More than 400,000 residents in Quezon City’s first district have directly benefited from various initiatives led by First District Representative Juan Carlos Atayde since 2022.
In his State of the District Address delivered at SM City North Edsa’s Skydome, Atayde highlighted his Aksyon Agad program, which he said has addressed the needs of his constituents in areas such as employment, education, health, youth development, disaster response, and infrastructure.
Atayde reported that the Aksyon Agad program has provided employment to 11,498 individuals through the TUPAD program and helped 1,500 applicants secure overseas jobs via a Taiwan Job Fair.
Additionally, 1,100 residents received training under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and other livelihood initiatives, while 245 small entrepreneurs received a P15,000 capital through the Sustainable Livelihood Program.
The lawmaker also cited that the district’s dialysis facility, which opened in October 2024, provides free treatment to 60 patients daily. His program has also extended medical assistance to 75,466 individuals.
In education, 4,598 students received educational aid from the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), and 929 senior high school students received a total of P2,817,000 in cash allowance under the Tulong Eskwela Program. Furthermore, 1,410 scholars received support through Tulong Dunong and SMART programs.
Atayde’s initiatives also included the distribution of rice to 132,567 families, free meals to 65,300 residents through Kusina on Wheels, and assistance to 64,000 families through the Pamaskong Handog initiative during the holiday season.
Disaster response efforts aided 7,789 families affected by fire incidents, and 3,501 families received burial assistance. Financial help for various needs was extended to 40,684 individuals.
“Under Aksyon Agad, we have implemented programs with a direct impact on the daily lives of our citizens,” Atayde said.
He also stressed that his accomplishments since 2022 fulfill his promise to ensure that government allocations for the district are used effectively.
“Everything goes to programs that directly help you,” said Atayde.
The lawmaker also underscored the importance of sports development, noting that the Aksyon Agad Sports Program supported 987 young athletes. The Inter-Barangay Youth Program and Council League, launched during his first term, has been expanded to promote unity and discipline.
He announced that next year, the sports program will include badminton, chess, darts and bowling.
