Thirty Filipinos repatriated from Cambodia arrived in the Philippines Tuesday morning, landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at approximately 3:41 a.m. aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR733, which came from Bangkok, Thailand.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary Bernard Olalia and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega were on hand to greet the returnees.
The government has issued a warning to Filipinos not to fall for promises of high-paying jobs abroad made by unscrupulous syndicates. Authorities emphasized the importance of vigilance to avoid falling victim to exploitation.
All 30 individuals were victims of human trafficking and were rescued from an online love scam in Cambodia with the help of Myanmar authorities.
