With the revival of Team Lotus, the brand is rebuilding a global racing community. This means bringing together racers, fans, partner teams, and anyone else who’s ever gotten goosebumps from the sound of a Lotus on track. It’s a love letter to motorsport.

Lotus has always had a thing for drivers — whether they’re carving up corners on a Sunday drive or going flat out on a race circuit. So, in a way, this move isn’t a big surprise. It’s more like a return to form.

With more than 75 years of racing in its bones, Lotus is pulling all its motorsport efforts — factory-backed programs, partner teams, Lotus Cup races, driver development, and fan communities — under one name: Team Lotus. It’s about bringing everyone who shares the same racing heartbeat into one family.

“Motorsport has been in Lotus’ DNA from day one, and we have hundreds of Lotus that compete every weekend in all forms of classic, national, and international races. Team Lotus unites that passion across every level. Whether it’s GT, endurance, or grassroots competition, we’re committed to supporting teams and drivers who share our love for racing,” Gavan Kershaw, director, head of Motorsports at Lotus Cars, said.

This reboot of Team Lotus is already in motion. The Emira GT4 will be making waves across several racing series in 2025. You’ll see it with Mahiki Racing in the British GT4, Pegasus Racing at the SRO GT Cup in Shanghai, and PB Racing over in the Italian Championship. It’s also lined up for the Euro Series GT4.

The timing couldn’t be better. As Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, Lotus is looking back at its legendary run in the sport, while also setting its sights on the future. Team Lotus is about reconnecting with that competitive spirit — and sharing it with a new generation of racers and fans.

To mark the comeback, Lotus is rolling out a fresh race livery for 2025. It blends the brand’s signature yellow with elements borrowed from its most iconic race cars. It’s a nod to the past, with eyes firmly on what’s next.
