Grab Philippines and motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT have partnered with AXA Philippines and PhilPacific Insurance Brokers & Managers Inc. (Philinsure) to provide free life insurance to top-performing partners.
Grab Philippines country head Ronald Roda said Thursday the initiative expands existing insurance coverage for partners engaged in ride bookings or deliveries — offering enhanced financial security and healthcare access.
“We believe that the hardworking individuals who move our cities and communities forward every day deserve more than just livelihood — they deserve security, protection, and peace of mind,” Roda said.
“Through this partnership, we are strengthening the gig economy by ensuring that our driver-partners receive fair recognition for their contributions while also having access to protections that help them navigate life’s uncertainties.”
The partnership with AXA Philippines and Philinsure ensures that tens of thousands of top-performing drivers receive free insurance coverage valued at up to P1 million, covering life insurance, accidental insurance, disability benefits and terminal illness protection.
“At AXA Philippines, we believe that financial protection should be accessible to everyone, most especially the hardworking Grab and MOVE IT driver-partners who keep our cities moving,” AXA Philippines CEO Ayman Kandil said.
Grab was the first on-demand platform in the Philippines to provide free life insurance for top-performing drivers and delivery partners in 2016.
MOVE IT launched a similar initiative under Ka-MOVE IT Rewards in 2023, extending support to its rider partners.
