Filipino tennis player Alex Eala finally wins a match in the main draw of the Miami Open after a 6-3, 7-6 victory over home bet Katie Volynets in the round of 128 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida early Thursday (Manila time).
This is the first time the 19-year-old netter advanced to the round of 64 since joining the Miami Open back in 2021.
The match lasted for one hour and 49 minutes before the three-time Junior Grand Slam pulled off the win.
Eala will face 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia next in the round of 64.
