
DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported zero incidents on the weekend’s celebration of the 88th Araw ng Dabaw highlighting Sunday’s solidarity walk that trooped to the San Pedro Square grounds.
The DCPO reported and estimated 20,000 to 30,000 Dabawenyos who participated in the activity in support of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte. The traditional Araw ng Dabaw celebration which parades colorful entities the city can give turned out to be a walk of unity joined by various civic organizations, NGO’s, private companies, schools, government institutions and barangays.
In his statement P/Col. Hansel Marantan, Acting City Director Davao City Police Office bared, a zero-incident record is not just an achievement — it is a reflection of Davao’s united spirit and shared responsibility. Let us carry forward this dedication, proving that when we work together, we create a safe, progressive and thriving city for all.
He also added, that through unwavering vigilance, discipline and teamwork, we have safeguarded this grand celebration, ensuring that every Dabawenyo and visitor could enjoy the festivities without fear. This collective effort highlights the commitment of our city to maintaining order and upholding the highest standards of security.
The solidarity walk culminated at the San Pedro Square ground with no less than Mayor Sebastian Duterte along with Senator Christopher “Bong” Go and some PDP Laban Senatorial candidates welcoming the crowd.
The young Duterte expressed this dismay on his father’s arrest by the ICC.
“I will take this opportunity to tell Mr. Marcos how I feel about him. Mr. President Marcos, you will never be loved, especially to us who are calling out Rody Duterte’s name. You will never be loved, Mr. Marcos. We will stand back and fight back,” Duterte said.
Upon his remarks, people chanted, ”Duterte, Duterte” the followed it up with “Marcos Resign, Marcos Resign.”
