Renejay "Renejay" is raring to test his wares against his friend and former teammate Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera, when Aurora takes on TNC Pro Team on Week 3, Day 3 of MPL Season 15 this Sunday at Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
"I am very excited to face Yawi because I really want to beat him. He used to be my tank, and I want to play against him. He is one of the tanks I idolized when I started as a tank. He used to be one of the people I watch; his gameplay, his playstyle," Renejay told DAILY TRIBUNE.
The pair were once teammates at Nexplay, where Renejay played as an experience laner, while Yawi was the team's primary roamer. As the years passed, they parted ways and joined different teams, but their friendship remained. For Renejay, the success that TNC is enjoying now is thanks to Yawi.
"TNC has a better lineup compared to previous seasons. I also think it has something to do with Yawi. With Yawi—an MPL champion from TLPH [ECHO] and a world champion—I think he brought the system of best practices to TNC," Renejay stated.
And while Renejay has nothing but praise for Yawi, he remains confident that he is capable of beating his friend.
"I am very excited because I think I can beat him. 2-0 Aurora," Renejay predicted.
