The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Metrobank Foundation honored the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) for its steadfast commitment to the 2024 National Teachers’ Month (NTM). PHLPost was recognized for its crucial role in the program’s success and its continued advocacy for educators and the teaching profession in the country.
The award was presented to Jocelyn Edralin Cacho, executive assistant at the PHLPost Office of the Postmaster General, by DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara, Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña and executive vice president Philip Francisco U. Dy on 11 March in Makati City.
“It’s an honor to receive this recognition, which affirms PHLPost’s meaningful contributions to honoring teachers through our education-focused initiatives,” Cacho said.
National Teachers’ Month, held from 5 September to 5 October, is a nationwide movement led by the Metrobank Foundation, DepEd, and various multi-sectoral groups. The initiative celebrates Filipino teachers and their invaluable contributions to the nation’s future, with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero.”
NTM encourages nationwide participation, extending the celebrations beyond school campuses to the broader public. During the program, PHLPost and DepEd also discussed support for the distribution of NTM stamps and the continued partnership in PHLPost’s National Letter Writing Competition, a collaboration designed for students.
