Trust Solaire to bring in nothing but the best to celebrate its 12th year anniversary.
To mark this momentous occasion, Solaire Resort Entertainment City at the Bay City area, Parañaque flew in not one, but three world-renowned chefs of Michelin-starred dining establishments to take over the helm of the kitchen in three of the ultra-luxe integrated resort’s upscale restaurants and regale dining patrons with culinary masterpieces every weekend starting 29 February to 16 March.
First of Chef Sun Kim’s six-course repast was sashimi of tuna with cuttlefish, seaweed, yuzu, and myoga (Japanese ginger), paired with a Dry Riesling 2022, Allan Scott, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Jeju abalone porridge, with lily bulb, kamtae seaweeds from pure clean mudflats and chicken heart. The dish was paired with a Tempranillo ‘Paul & Remy,’ 2020 Chapillon Estate, Aragon, Spain.
The series of gourmet dining events started with a nine-course Kaiseki dinner prepared at Yakumi by Chef Jun Yukimura, owner of three-Michelin-starred Azabu Yukimura based in Kyoto.
Last Thursday, 6 March, a select group of media practitioners were invited to Solaire’s Waterside to preview a six-course repast concocted by Sun Kim, the brilliant chef patron of Meta, the much lauded restaurant in Singapore famed for being honored by the Michelin Guide with stars, the first time in 2017 with one, and seven years later, in 2024, with two.
Currently, Meta ranks number 28th on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list and number 95 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 list.
Two of the three dates set for Chef Sun Kim — dinner at the Waterside on 7 March, Friday and 8 March, Saturday are all sold out. Slots are still available for brunch (11:30 a.m. — 2 p.m.) on 9 March.
