CAMP CIRILO S TOLENTINO, Bataan — Col. Palmer Z. Tria reported Tuesday that the Bataan PNP’s intensified operations on “Revitalized Katok” across the province resulted to the surrender of six loose firearms in just two days.

Col. Tria said that as a result of their Oplan Katok, “six units of loose firearms in different caliber with expired registration were voluntarily surrendered for safekeeping purposes.”

The PNP’s “Revitalized Katok” is a nationwide operation aimed at ensuring the proper registration and accountability of firearms across the country.

This initiative, Tria pointed out, is part of the PNP’s continuous efforts to enhance public safety, reduce crimes involving firearms, and promote responsible gun ownership.

The Bataan Provincial Director “acknowledges the Bataan PNP’s efforts in extended intelligence gathering and validation on this intervention implementing ‘Revitalized Katok’, which is conducted on individuals who may be in possession of loose firearms as part of an initiative to prevent potential untoward incidents resulting from firearm misuse and violence.”

This effective intervention has led to the decrease of significant numbers of loose firearms, contributing to a decline in firearm-related incidents in preparation on the upcoming 2025 midterm elections, added Tria.
