Jake Zyrus, formerly Charice Pempengco, could have been a billionaire by now.

This revelation was made by him in his book, I AM JAKE, launched in 2018 but is creating a stir just now in social media.

Snippets from the book is now making the rounds in cyberspace, which resulted in netizens yakking as Zyrus who undauntingly shared that he only got to know his worth when he met his accountant.

In the book, Jake revealed that during the peak of his career as Charice, his highest net worth reached $16,000,000 or  P927,840,000.

“But when you’re a celebrity, people expect to find you decked in designer clothes all the time. Imagine how I felt when as an adult who should be able to handle my own money, I met my accountant for the first time and learned that when I went on tour, I could earn up to $600,000. When I sang at private events, I could get up to $300,000. Endorsement in States earned me up to $1,000,000. At one point, my net worth was $16,000,000,” he wrote in his book.

On hindsight, he revealed that his mom,  Raquel Pempengco, was the one had control over his  finances.

“I’m not worth $16,000,000 anymore, but I assure you, I am richer than Charice. She only knew how much she was worth, but she never actually got to touch or enjoy her earnings. Sure, I saw houses being built and cars being bought using my money, but I was always told they weren’t mine,” he wrote.

What’s more devastating was that “If I needed to use one of our cars, I had to ask permission from my mother.”

“Sometimes, she would refuse my request. It’s only that I finally know what it’s like to have a house under my name and a car I can use anytime I wish,” he said.

Why Vice Ganda got bothered by a female contestant

Not everyone knows about Commission on Elections.

This, Vice Ganda realized recently during the weekly finals of “Sexy Babe,” one of the segments in It’s Showtime.

In a now viral video, it showed a banter with a  20-year-old weekly finalist where Vice Ganda asked: “Ano ang mensahe mo sa Comelec? (What is your message to the Comelec?)”

“Sorry po, hindi po ako masyadong knowledgeable about Comelec (Sorry, I’m not knowledgeable about Comelec),” came the contestant’s honest answer.

This utterly shocked Vice Ganda who then asked:  “Ilang taon ka na ba (How old are you)?”

When the contestant replied that she’s already 20 years old, Vice Ganda’s reaction reeked of disappointment.

“Oh my gosh! That’s bothersome,” she said.

Vice Ganda’s co-host, Jhong Hilario, explained the functions of Comelec and the contestant was later asked about “vote buying.”

How Cheena Crab’s friendship with Jodi Sta. Maria started

Years ago, Cheena Crab had the chance to work with Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria in Labyu with an Accent movie.

They stayed in one house for one month and it was there where Crab got to know Sta. Maria upclose and personal.

“Matagal akong nawala (sa showbiz) so noong nakita ko siya ay hindi ko alam kung ano ang ikikilos ko (I was missing in showbiz for so long so when I saw her I don’t know how to behave),” Crab revealed during the launch of the Jodi Sta. Maria Youtube channel.

But Crab found the actress very caring.

“She was the one fixing my lapel and my outfit,” she said in Tagalog.

And when Crab worked with Sta. Maria in Lavender Fields, the experience was Iike a walk in the park.

“When you work with her on the set, happy lang. You wouldn’t feel you are very far from her,” she said.

Crab and AC Soriano are Sta. Maria’s co-hosts in Let’s Drink To That, a show on JSM channel that’s replete with positivity.
