DAVAO CITY — Chrisjohn Remata and Lisa Sarines triumphed in their respective divisions at the 2025 NGAP-Mindanao Amateur Open, held on Friday at the South Pacific Golf Davao Country Club.
Remata secured his victory after a thrilling playoff against Rolando Bregente, with both tied at 218.
After three extra holes, Remata clinched the win with a birdie putt on the third hole, overcoming the rainy conditions on the challenging South Pacific layout.
Sarines clinched the women’s division, edging out Precious Zaragosa by one point. Sarines finished with 233 (78-75-80), while Zaragosa posted 234 (80-79-75).
Merry Rose Wacan took third place with 241 (82-80-79).
Special awards were given to the 13-and-under winners: Chan Ahn (boys champion, 79-84-79-242), Ralph Rian Batican (boys 1st runner-up, 81-82-81-244), Mona Sarines (girls champion, 81-82-80-243), and Brittany Pauline Tamayo (girls 1st runner-up, 81-80-83-244).
A total of 80 participants competed in the three-day tournament, which was organized and sanctioned by the NGAP and supported by the PLDT Group National Amateur Golf Tour. Jon Develos
