A simpler, faster and more transparent way to support local social welfare initiatives and charitable causes is now available with the launch of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) new online donation platform, the "Kaagapay" Donations Portal.

Assistant Secretary Ana Maria Paz Rafael of the DSWD’s Partnership Building and Resource Mobilization Office, who spearheaded this initiative, highlighted that one of the key features of the portal is that all donations processed through the platform go directly to the recipients without passing through the DSWD.

“From the start, our goal was clear — to simplify the donation process for every good Samaritan. This is not only for people wanting to help with our Disaster Response Relief Operations, Centers and Residential Care Facilities, Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs), and Local Government Units engaged in humanitarian efforts,” Assistant Secretary Rafael explained.

The portal features a dashboard that provides a real-time overview of raised funds and donor participation, ensuring transparency for both donors and the public.

Rafael also explained that SWDAs — commonly known as private organizations, NGOs, and CSOs — offer crucial social welfare services to vulnerable sectors.

The portal allows the public to easily access information about these organizations, their work, history and the specific sectors they serve. “We aim to provide a platform for non-mainstream foundations to make their donation channels more accessible,” Rafael added.
