A Delta Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday after the cabin filled with smoke mid-flight, prompting an urgent evacuation.

The Boeing 717 was en route to Columbia, South Carolina, when crew members detected haze inside the aircraft. The plane immediately turned back to Atlanta, where all 94 passengers exited via emergency slides upon landing.

Videos from inside the plane show passengers covering their faces as smoke spread throughout the cabin. Later footage captured them safely on the tarmac, with Atlanta Fire Rescue assisting in the evacuation.

No injuries were reported among the passengers, two pilots, and three flight attendants onboard. Operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remained unaffected following the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the cause of the smoke. The event adds to a string of concerning airline incidents in recent weeks, including a Delta aircraft flipping upside down in Toronto.
