Coffee lovers, rejoice! The Philippines’ vibrant coffee scene is getting the international spotlight it deserves as four local coffee shops have secured spots on the inaugural World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list.

Leading the charge is Crema and Cream Coffee Roasters, soaring high at #8, followed by Yardstick at #18, El Union at #61, and Single Origin at #83. Each of these cafés has long been a favorite among Filipino coffee enthusiasts, and now, the rest of the world is taking notice.

The recognition, awarded by The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops, is a new global ranking system celebrating the best cafés based on coffee quality, barista expertise, ambiance, sustainability, and customer experience.

With input from a panel of 200 coffee experts and industry professionals, the winners were chosen through a combination of public votes and professional evaluations.

A toast to local talent

The four Philippine cafés on the list each bring something unique to the table:

☕ Crema and Cream Coffee Roasters (Quezon City) – Known for its high-quality roasts, including the crowd-favorite Brazil Mogiana and Starry Night Decaf.
☕ Yardstick (Metro Manila) – A specialty roastery that has expanded across the metro, serving Golden Ticket coffee and stylish merch for the ultimate coffee experience.
☕ El Union (La Union) – A beachside favorite in San Juan, offering signature drinks like the Dirty Horchata and Nitro Cold Brew to surfers and sun-seekers.
☕ Single Origin – A go-to brunch spot with a focus on specialty coffee, making it a staple for both foodies and caffeine aficionados.

Putting PH coffee on the world map

While the top spot went to Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters in Australia, the Philippines’ presence on the list is a testament to the country’s growing influence in the global coffee industry. With its rich coffee heritage, innovative brewers, and passionate community, the Philippines is proving that it can hold its own in the international scene.

Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a certified aficionado, these homegrown cafés are brewing something truly world-class—so go ahead, take a sip and savor the pride!
