American television news channel MSNBC is canceling Joy Reid’s show, The ReidOut, as part of a broader network overhaul, Fox News Digital has learned.
According to a report from International sources, Reid’s 7 PM ET slot will be replaced by a new program featuring Symone Sanders-Townsend, Alicia Menendez, and Michael Steele.
MSNBC’s newly appointed president, Rebecca Kutler, is set to announce additional programming changes affecting dayside, weekends, and primetime.
Jen Psaki’s Inside with Jen Psaki is expected to receive more airtime, while Alex Wagner will transition to a correspondent role but will no longer host a 9 PM ET program.
Meanwhile, MSNBC is in discussions to bring Politico’s Eugene Daniels and NYU law professor Melissa Murray on board. The network is also actively seeking key leadership positions, including a head of talent, a head of newsgathering, a Washington bureau chief, and a head of content strategy.
Additionally, MSNBC plans to expand its Washington bureau and strengthen its domestic and international correspondent teams in preparation for Comcast’s planned separation of NBC News from MSNBC.
The ReidOut has seen declining viewership, averaging 973,000 total viewers in February 2025 — a 28 percent drop from 1.3 million in February 2024.
