The Department of Migrant Workers in Central Visayas (DMW-7) stepped up its monitoring of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) livelihood beneficiaries with a visit to Carcar City, Cebu, on Wednesday, 19 February.
DMW-7 OIC-Regional Director Maria Eloida O. Cantona and Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Luchel S. Taniza of the Welfare Reintegration Services Division (WRSD) visited former OFW Rhona Mae S. Quijano’s residence in Lupa, Valencia, Carcar City. Quijano, who is engaged in banana chip-making, owns Zhenrieque's Ukay-Ukay and Homemade Banana Chips.
Taniza told DAILY TRIBUNE that Quijano availed of the Balik-Pinay, Balik-Hanapbuhay Program (BPBH), which DMW is currently implementing. A mini-trade fair for BPBH beneficiaries is set to take place in March.
