The local government of Manila’s Department of Social Welfare provided immediate assistance to fire victims in Barangay 106, District 1, and Barangay 353, District 3.
“The hope brought by each aid we provide is proof of the government’s concern for every family in need during times of disaster,” Mayor Honey Lacuna said. “We will continue to be their partner in rebuilding their lives. Whatever the challenge, together, we can overcome it.”
Social Welfare chief Re Fugoso said the mayor and vice mayor distributed P10,000 in financial assistance to each affected family, along with food boxes, relief goods, hygiene kits, grocery items, and other essential needs.
Fugoso also thanked city councilors for providing additional assistance from national funds allocated by some district congressmen.
The fire victims are temporarily housed at the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, where portable tents were also provided.
