The Partido Pederal ng Maharlika (PPM) on Saturday formally endorsed senatorial candidates from the Marcos administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas and Duterte-backed Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
The PPM, which claims to be aligned with the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., endorsed the candidacy of PDP-Laban senatorial candidates, such as Senators Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa, Sagip Partylist Representative Rodante Marcoleta, lawyers Jayvee Hinlo, Vic Rodriguez, and actor Philip Salvador.
The political party, headed by former Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, also endorsed the candidacy of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidates, including Senators Francis Tolentino, Imee Marcos, and former Senators Tito Sotto and Ping Lacson.
The party also endorsed two independent senatorial candidates: former senator Gringo Honasan and Raul Lambino.
According to Bello, the party endorsed the candidacy of the aforementioned senatorial candidates based on their qualifications and track record.
“We have chosen these candidates based on their qualifications. It is based on their track record, not because they are from the PDP or another party. We chose to endorse them because of their good track record as public servants,” he told reporters at Club Filipino in San Juan City.
Only PDP-Laban candidates, such as Marcoleta and Hinlo, attended the event. Dela Rosa, despite not attending, was represented by his brother, Barangay Batasan Hills Kagawad Wenky Dela Rosa.
Meanwhile, Go was represented by his chief of staff, Gelo Villar.
