The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Friday reiterated its warning to the public against individuals offering “middleman” services to facilitate requests for assistance through the agency’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
“We once again remind our countrymen to avoid dealing with fixers or middlemen who claim they can help expedite the submission of requirements for any of the agency’s programs, especially those who go to our Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU)-Satellite Offices,” said DSWD spokesperson assistant secretary Irene Dumlao.
The DSWD has updated its CIU-Satellite Offices in Metro Manila to make the AICS program more accessible and it provides medical, burial, transportation, educational, food, or financial assistance to individuals in crisis, as assessed by social workers.
Clients residing in Manila, San Juan, Makati, Mandaluyong, and Quezon City can submit requirements at the Legarda Satellite Office in Sampaloc, Manila.
Residents of Pasay, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa can go to the Baclaran Satellite Office in Muntinlupa City. Those in Pasig, Taguig, Marikina, and Pateros can submit applications at the Pasig Satellite Office.
Meantime, residents of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela can visit the CAMANAVA Satellite Office in Caloocan City.
The satellite offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
