The Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported on Friday that five of the most wanted individuals in Central Visayas had been arrested.
The CIDG said these tagged criminals were nabbed in a manhunt operation in Barangay Nagbinlod in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental, on 12 February.
The arrested were identified by their aliases: Felix, Renato, Daniel, Julian, and Angelito, all residents of Negros Oriental.
They are facing murder and frustrated murder charges after being accused of involvement in a shooting incident in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, which resulted in one death and two injuries, stemming from a land dispute.
On 5 February, Judge Maria Myla Rae Santos-Orden of Bayawan City Regional Trial Court Branch 63 issued an arrest order for the five individuals.
Bail for the attempted murder charge was set at P120,000, while no bail was recommended for the murder charge.
