An American national allegedly fell from the eighth floor of a condominium in Valenzuela City, dying on impact.

According to a report from Police Colonel Nixon Cayaban, chief of the Valenzuela City Police Station, the man fell at around 9:40 AM on Monday.

Personnel from the condominium reported the incident at around 10:30 AM, and police officers from the Marulas Substation immediately responded to the scene.

The investigation revealed that a security guard was on duty in the lobby when the victim, identified only as "Robert," fell beside her from the eighth floor.

Another security guard stated that the witness to the incident is currently on leave after being traumatized by the event.

She also confirmed that the American national had been renting the condominium for just a month, as part of a "staycation."

Police Captain Joan De Leon, chief of the Station Community Affairs Section (SCAS) of the Valenzuela City Police, said that based on the initial investigation, blood stains were found from the fourth floor leading to the lobby, where the victim’s body was scattered.

“We also have another witness who allegedly saw the victim walking back and forth before the incident,” De Leon said.

She added that "Robert" was alone in his condominium unit at the time of the fall.

Investigators also noted that the railings of the condominium were relatively short, which may have contributed to the incident since the victim was 5'9" in height.

"If you lean on it and you're tall, there's a chance you could fall," an investigator said.

Authorities are conducting a follow-up investigation to determine whether the victim intended to commit suicide or if the fall was accidental.

De Leon confirmed that the body was taken to the Northern Police District Forensic Unit for an autopsy.
