KYIV (AFP) — A “massive” Russian missile and drone attack killed at least eight people in Kyiv overnight, including seven at a railway depot, Ukrainian officials said Tuesday.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said five people, including two children, were wounded.
Ukrainian Railways chief Oleksandr Pertsovskyi said a ballistic missile struck a railway depot and other facilities, killing six employees and another person.
“The ballistic strike took the lives of seven people, six of whom were our employees,” Pertsovskyi said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said it carried out a “massive strike” targeting military-industrial, fuel and energy facilities in Kyiv and surrounding areas. It also reported strikes on infrastructure and ports in the Odesa region.
