President Marcos Highlights BOC’s Digitalization and Anti-Smuggling Gains at 123rd Anniversary
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the 123rd Founding Anniversary of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) on 7 February 2025 at the PICC, Pasay City. In his message, the President highlighted the agency's achievements and ongoing reforms. He emphasized the importance of digitalization, with the BOC reaching a 96.99 percent digitalization rate, streamlining processes, and reducing corruption. The BOC's revenue collection in 2024 amounted to P931 billion, significantly contributing to infrastructure, education, and public services. Efforts to combat smuggling resulted in the seizure of P85 billion worth of illegal goods, including agricultural products, which were redistributed to marginalized communities. President Marcos urged BOC personnel to uphold integrity and efficiency, reinforcing their role in nation-building.
