In a notable move ahead of the NBA trade deadline, Brandon Ingram has been traded to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a first-round pick, and a second-round pick.
Ingram, a one-time NBA All-Star and former Most Improved Player of the Year, has been a key player for the New Orleans Pelicans, though he has been sidelined since December due to an ankle injury.
Despite missing several games, he has been effective when on the court this season, averaging 22.2 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game in just 18 appearances.
This trade is part of a flurry of moves as teams make adjustments ahead of today’s NBA trade deadline.
The Raptors are adding a talented scorer and playmaker in Ingram, who is expected to make a strong impact upon his return to the lineup. Meanwhile, the Pelicans gain significant depth and future assets with the inclusion of Brown, Olynyk, and the draft picks.
