United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Wednesday that Trump’s plan to relocate Palestinians and develop Gaza would amount to “ethnic cleansing."
According to New York Times reporter Farnaz Fassihi, Guterres also said the US President’s plan risks “making impossible a Palestinian state forever."
This came shortly after Trump announced that his administration will take over the Gaza Strip in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump urged neighboring states to take in Palestinians as the US redevelops Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East."
