Countries participating in the newly formed Board of Peace have pledged more than $5 billion for humanitarian aid and reconstruction in Gaza, U.S. President Donald Trump announced Sunday, 15 February 2026. The pledges will be formally confirmed at the board’s first official meeting on Thursday, 19 February 2026, at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington.

The international initiative aims to oversee Gaza’s postwar recovery, including rebuilding housing, infrastructure, and essential services. Member states have also committed thousands of personnel to a United Nations-authorized stabilization force and local police to maintain security and support disarmament of militant groups.

More than 20 countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Israel, are expected to send delegations to the summit, including heads of state. Indonesia has confirmed it will have up to 8,000 troops ready by late June for deployment as part of the stabilization force, marking the first concrete troop commitment.

Reconstruction in Gaza is estimated to cost around $70 billion, according to the United Nations, World Bank, and European Union, significantly exceeding current pledges. The ceasefire plan between Israel and Hamas, agreed in October 2025, calls for gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces and disarmament of Hamas, with the stabilization force ensuring compliance.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Israeli forces have killed more than 590 Palestinians in Gaza, according to the territory’s Health Ministry, while Palestinian militants have killed four Israeli soldiers. Both sides continue to accuse each other of ceasefire violations.

Some countries, including France, Germany, Poland, and Italy, have declined to join the board, while others have raised concerns about the inclusion of certain political figures and Russia’s participation. The Thursday meeting will publicly confirm financial and personnel commitments, outline the scope of the stabilization mission, and discuss the allocation of aid for Gaza’s recovery.
