Leonides “Boyet” Canlas and professional Laure Duque provided the fireworks on Day 5 of the 37th Mango Tee Invitational by scoring aces on the same hole at Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa on Wednesday.
Canlas used a driver to score a hole-in-one on the white pin of the sixth hole, earning him a brand-new BYD car.
Moments later, Duque matched that feat on the same pin using a three-wood. However, she is not eligible to win hole-in-one prizes for being a professional.
Halfway through the event, a new batch of participants started their respective bids.
Arnel Paras and Raymond Co combined for 65 points to produce the best score in the overall gross division. Juan Ibazeta and Raymund Sangil shot 64 while Crisd Carreon and Harrison Paltongan returned with 63 points.
The total score to beat is 143 points held by John Baron Garcia and David Serdenia.
In overall net, Leopoldo dela Cruz and Nelson Mendoza posted the best score — 84 points, four points ahead of Roland Cinco and Randolph Cinco.
