As First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos prepares to represent the Philippines in the upcoming World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, netizens have expressed overwhelming support, praising her dedication and vision for the country’s future on the global stage.

Her participation in the prestigious international event is seen as a crucial opportunity to further strengthen the Philippines’ global partnerships.

Netizens wasted no time in showing their support, with one user commenting: “Congratulations, dearest First Lady Liza Marcos, for gearing up for the World Governments Summit in Dubai. As government leaders, policymakers, thought leaders, and leaders from the private sector come together to share knowledge about the opportunities, challenges and trends that humanity will face in the future, this summit will certainly be an excellent forum to reinforce our country’s partnership with other countries to address these challenges.”

“Your presence at the summit is an inspiration to many.”

Another echoed the sentiment, expressing hope for fruitful outcomes from the summit’s discussions on various memorandums of agreement (MoAs): “Kaka-proud naman! Sana magbunga lahat ng MoA na ‘yan!”

The summit, taking place from 11 to 13 February, will bring together over 30 heads of state and government, 400+ ministers and influential experts from across the globe.

Under the theme “Shaping Future Governments,” it will focus on addressing global challenges and exploring innovative governance solutions. Notably, over 80 international organizations will also be involved, making it a significant event for advancing international collaboration.

Although President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will not attend, the First Lady’s role in the summit marks a key moment in her growing influence on the world stage.

Presidential Communications Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez confirmed that only the First Lady would be representing the Philippines at the event.

As her departure to Dubai draws closer, netizens have continued to express their excitement, with one comment reading: “Let’s go Philippines! Grabe, umabot na tayo ng Dubai. Thank you, Madam, and take care po.”

Others have also wished her success, applauding her efforts to advance the nation’s interests on the international stage.

Her participation comes at a pivotal moment for the Philippines, with economic ties between the Philippines and UAE continuing to grow.

The summit provides a valuable platform to strengthen these relationships and foster future collaboration.

The World Governments Summit will offer the First Lady and other leaders the opportunity to tackle pressing global issues while exploring avenues for fostering cooperation and innovation in governance.

Her involvement signals the Philippines’ commitment to being an active player in global discussions that shape the future.

Meanwhile, the President recently reflected on the strong support his wife received during the 455th founding anniversary of Cebu.

He shared a touching moment when his wife recalled how emotional she was during the event.

“It was so touching... that I cried, I shed a tear,” the First Lady said.

The President then joked that she was “too emotional,” but later admitted that the expressions of support from the Visayan leaders were deeply moving. Hence, he emphasized the unity shown by the local leaders, which has inspired renewed commitment to his administration.

In addition to regional unity, the President has spoken frequently about his wife’s deep understanding of the law, even sharing a humorous lesson he learned from her.

At the 20th National Convention of Lawyers in Cebu City, he lightheartedly remarked that he had learned to “never argue with your wife, especially if she is a lawyer.”

The crowd erupted in laughter as the President explained that debates with a lawyer wife often spiral into legal jargon, case law and cross-examinations.

The President praised his wife for enriching his own understanding of law and governance.

As Mrs. Marcos embarks on this international mission, her growing influence in shaping the future of the Philippines continues to garner support, with many looking forward to the outcomes of the World Governments Summit and the continued strengthening of the country’s international relations.
