A total of 561 police officers from the Quezon City Police District, aside from 13 civilian support staffers and five dependents, benefited from the month-long implementation of the “Alagang QCPD” program.
QCPD director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. said the initiative is their commitment to the health and well-being of their personnel and other parts of their community, including persons under police custody (PUPCs).
Buslig said the QCPD Medical and Dental Unit (DMDU), headed by P/Lt.Col. Van Jason Villamor, visited different key police stations, delivering vital health services to QCPD officers, their families, and PUPCs in January.
The visits focused on providing essential health services aimed at enhancing the overall welfare of the personnel and the community they serve.
The services offered during the visits included lectures on dental health and reimbursement of hospital expenses; distribution of dental kits and IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials; monitoring of random blood sugar; stress management workshops; and health status monitoring for PUPCs.
Over the course of the program, 507 QCPD personnel, including five of their dependents and 13 civilians, as well as 36 PUPCs, benefited from the initiative.
