Philippine national women’s football team forward Katrina Guillou looks to enhance her goal scoring during her stint with the national women’s futsal squad in the Asian Football Confederation Women’s Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers at the Yunusobod Sports Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Guillou, 31, said playing in the smaller court in futsal would help her sharpen her skills.
The Philippines is battling against Kuwait at press time.
“I think you said it, it is a lot faster. I’m just having the ability to sort my feet out and be able to read the opponents and knowing where my next pass is going,” Guillou said.
“Hopefully it’ll go in the goal, and that’s always the aim. But as long as we win, I think I’ll be happy at the end of it.”
Guillou will have a busy year as the Filipinas will defend their title in the 13th ASEAN Women’s Championship.
The Filipinas are also gunning for redemption in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand from 9 to 20 December.
As for the futsal tournament itself, Guillou said she has to be quicker on the field.
