Makati City Mayor Abby Binay has vowed to push for the nationwide replication of the city’s successful programs to ensure all Filipinos have access to better healthcare, education and livelihood opportunities.

Speaking at the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) general assembly, the mayor shared her vision of a Philippines where everyone enjoys the benefits of economic growth.

“Imagine a Philippines where every Filipino has access to free healthcare, every child is equipped for success, and job opportunities abound in a thriving economy,” said Binay, who is also a senatorial aspirant.

She believes that through proper budget allocations or public-private partnerships (PPPs), Makati’s successful programs can be implemented nationwide.

The mayor cited Makati’s experience as demonstrating how partnerships with the private sector can drive transformative progress, from healthcare to infrastructure.

“These programs are not luxuries — they are necessities that every Filipino deserves,” Binay said. “There is no reason why these benefits cannot be implemented nationwide, especially for the economically disadvantaged.”

The mayor highlighted Makati’s programs like the Yellow Card, Project FREE, Project FEED, and job generation initiatives as potential blueprints for national progress.

She also stressed the importance of good governance in achieving inclusive progress.

“Good governance is the foundation upon which health, education, and economic growth are built,” the mayor said. “It ensures that resources are used wisely, systems are streamlined, and every decision is made with the welfare of the community at its core.”

Binay attributed the city’s success to four pillars: health, education, good governance, and inclusive economic growth.
