Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, a senatorial aspirant, on Tuesday said she would push for the national replication of the city’s successful programs aimed at improving health care, education, and livelihood for all Filipinos.

Speaking at the general assembly of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), Binay shared her vision of a future where economic growth benefits everyone, without leaving anyone behind.

“Imagine a Philippines where every Filipino has access to free healthcare, every child is equipped for success, and job opportunities abound in a thriving economy,” Binay said.

She added that through proper budget allocations or public-private partnerships (PPPs), programs implemented in Makati could be expanded across the country.

Binay pointed to Makati’s experience, which has shown how private sector partnerships can drive progress, from healthcare to infrastructure. She emphasized that programs like the Yellow Card, Project FREE, Project FEED, and job generation initiatives can be used as models for national implementation.

“These programs are not luxuries—they are necessities that every Filipino deserves,” Binay said. “There is no reason why these benefits cannot be implemented nationwide, especially for the economically disadvantaged.”

She argued that Makati’s success demonstrates that such transformative programs are both possible and scalable, with the right priorities and partnerships.

Binay also stressed the importance of good governance in achieving inclusive progress, noting that it ensures resources are used wisely and that decisions prioritize the welfare of the community.

“Good health is not just a personal need but a fundamental right. In Makati, we provide healthcare that is accessible, equitable, and impactful,” she said, highlighting the Yellow Card program, which offers comprehensive health services to residents and city employees.

Binay further discussed Makati’s efforts in education, including Project FREE, which provides students with free uniforms, school supplies, and footwear, and Project FEED, which provides nutritious snacks to students during school hours.

She also mentioned the city’s focus on integrating technology in schools while continuing to improve curricula and provide teachers with the tools needed to educate future generations.

Binay noted that Makati’s initiatives to streamline business processes, such as the Makatizen Online Portal, help foster a business-friendly environment, ensuring sustainable economic growth.

“None of these achievements would be possible without good governance,” Binay said. “Transparency, accountability, and a commitment to serving the people are at the heart of everything we do in Makati.”

She concluded by reaffirming her commitment to making progress that benefits all Filipinos. “Together, we can build a future where opportunity, growth, and success are within reach for all,” Binay said.
