The Land Transportation Office (LTO) boasted Tuesday that its total revenues in 2024 reached P32 billion collected through the implementation of necessary reforms and the hard work and cooperation of all its personnel, particularly those on the frontlines.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the P32.271 million collected by the agency from January to December 2024 is 8.8 percent higher compared to its revenue collection in 2023. Based on the LTO data, the revenue collection for 2023 was P29,661,161,162.07.
“Despite some serious challenges, we are still able to increase the revenue collection. And I commend all of our personnel for their dedication to their job," Mendoza said.
Mendoza also attributed the accomplishment of the LTO to the guidance of Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista who has been sharing his inputs and showing his support to the policy reforms in the agency.
Last year, several policy reforms were instituted to increase the revenue collection of the national government through the LTO.
One of them is the conduct of the outreach program where LTO on Wheels was deployed to bring government services closer to the people in line with the instruction of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to bring government services closer to the people.
Mendoza said the LTO on Wheels paved the way for convenient and faster services to the clients, particularly in far-flung areas.
“We intend to expand this LTO on Wheels program because of the positive feedback we have been receiving since this project was started,” Mendoza said.
For 2025, Mendoza expressed optimism that the LTO could do more, especially since the serious challenges faced by the agency were all resolved before 2024 ended.
“We’re assuring the Filipino people that we will do more this year in terms of service improvement and ensuring the safety of road users through aggressive operations and enforcement of traffic rules and regulations,” Mendoza said.
