Actress KC Concepcion took to social media to share a heartfelt birthday message for her mom, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who celebrated her special day on 6 January.

In a series of Instagram posts, KC shared throwback photos of herself with her mom, fondly calling her “Sunshine.”

“Happy birthday to the woman who was always my sunshine growing up,” KC wrote.

She also described Sharon as her first best friend, idol, and constant support.

“My first best friend, my first valentine, my secret Santa, my first idol, my one and only! We’ve been through a lot together, but like a sunflower, you always manage to turn towards the light… And now, you show me how to do the same. I love you, my beautiful Mama. Happy birthday,” KC added in a heartfelt caption.

KC also reminisced about her childhood, sharing a fond memory of her “dates” with her mom at the ABS-CBN recording studio during the 1990s.

“Welcome to the ABS-CBN recording studio of the 90s, where Mom and I would have our ‘dates’ once a week,” she shared, jokingly adding, “While recording sya for her weekly musical variety show, bitbit nya lagi ako cuz former clingy girl talaga that little KC girl.”

Last December, Concepcion revealed that she was closing out 2024 on a positive note by having a heartfelt conversation with her mom. She also expressed her hope for reconciliation and a smoother relationship with Cuneta moving forward.

KC is Sharon Cuneta’s only daughter with actor Gabby Concepcion. The former couple married in 1984, but their marriage was annulled in 1993. Sharon is now married to Kiko Pangilinan, with whom she shares three children: Frankie, Miel, and Miguel.
