Camp John Hay (CJH) Golf Club is set to reopen on Thursday under new management, two days after closing for an inventory by the Office of the Baguio Sheriff and to facilitate operational transitions.

An interim management team, led by Golfplus Management Inc., the team behind the driving ranges at Nuvali and Alviera, and DuckWorld PH, a sports management agency, will assist the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in managing the facilities temporarily.

Previously operated by CJH Development Corporation’s subsidiary CJH Golf Club Inc., the facilities were recovered by the BCDA following a 22 October 2024 Supreme Court ruling that denied all motions for reconsideration filed by CJH DevCo and its third-party respondents. The Notice to Vacate was served to CJH DevCo on 6 January 2025.

“We know the CJH golf course is a favorite among golfers, and both new and former players will continue to enjoy premium services during the interim period,” BCDA vice president Mark Torres said.

“We will introduce improvements, evaluate systems, and make recommendations for the long-term management of the estate,” GMI president Eduardo Arguelles, who will also head the interim management team, added.

“We’ll keep everyone informed throughout the transition.”

“New management will ensure continuity of services and the welfare of workers and caddies,” John Hay Management Corporation president and chief executive officer Marlo Quadra said.

“We look forward to maintaining the golf estate’s prestige and quality service for all guests.”

The estate will be temporarily closed from 7 to 8 January 2025 for the inventory and operational transition.

Interim guidelines are expected to be released on 8 January 2025.
