A man was arrested during an anti-criminality operation conducted by the intelligence section of the Muntinlupa City police Friday evening.
The operation was carried out successfully at 9:40 p.m. at the Old Terminal in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The suspect, identified as alias Esteban, a 44-year-old taxi driver, is reportedly a notorious drug peddler.
According to police, the suspect may also be selling illegal drugs to fellow taxi drivers. Investigations are ongoing to identify his clientele.
Confiscated from the suspect were illegal drugs worth P700,000, weighing 100 grams, and a .38 caliber firearm.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
