The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) disclosed on Friday that it recently launched the Aviation Security Oversight, Reporting, and Resolution Software (ORR) before the end of 2024 to digitally revolutionize the procedures for reporting observations and findings during airport and airline compliance monitoring activities.
This was done in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Cooperative Aviation Security Programme-Asia Pacific (CASP-AP).
According to the OTS, Lita Lee, the ICAO CASP-AP Training and Capacity Building officer, developed the ORR and led the training to give the OTS’ Civil Aviation Security Division National Aviation Security Auditors the know-how to utilize the software’s capabilities, which will expedite the creation of reports.
OTS administrator Undersecretary Crizaldo Nieves stressed the importance of the ORR as a platform for adopting digital technologies for compliance monitoring operations.
“Our compliance efforts will be greatly streamlined by this shift to a digital platform. The ORR’s introduction has given us the chance to report more quickly, which improves our ability to take prompt action to protect the environment of civil aviation,” Nieves said.
