
The 3,962 law graduates who passed the bar exams administered by the Supreme Court (SC) last September will take their oath on 24 January to become full-fledged lawyers.
The program will start at 10 a.m. at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
After the oath-taking, the new lawyers will sign the Roll of Attorneys, SC spokesperson Camille Sue Mae L. Ting said yesterday.
The new lawyers will take their oath before the full Supreme Court. The 2024 bar examination committee was headed by Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez.
Earlier, Lopez said: “The new lawyers will become the new advocates of justice and truth. They will join the ranks of esteemed legal professionals who will shape society and champion the rights of the people.”
University of the Philippines (UP) law graduate Kyle Christian G. Tutor, who topped the bar with a grade of 85.77 percent, will lead the 3,962 new lawyers in the oath.
The other topnotchers are Maria Christina S. Aniceto of Ateneo de Manila University, who was second with 85.48 percent, and Angeles University Foundation’s Gerald C. Roxas who was third with 84.355 percent.
In the fourth to sixth spots are UP law graduates John Philippe E. Chua, 84.28 percent; Jet Ryan P. Nicolas, 84.265 percent; and Maria Lovelyn Joyce S. Quebrar, 84.06 percent.
Rounding out the top 10 were Joji S. Macadine from the University of Mindanao, 83.745 percent; Gregorio Jose S. Torres II of Western Mindanao State University, 83.59 percent; and Raya B. Victorio of San Beda University, 83.47 percent.
In the top 20 were Paolo Antonio V. Gerpacio, AdMU, 83.455 percent; Andrew Gil B. Ambray, University of Sto. Tomas, 83.445 percent; Marielle Janine Joy T. Macarilay, AdMU, 83.275 percent; John Daniel D. Hamoy, University of San Carlos, 83.135 percent; Therese Bianca N. Garcia, AdMU, 83.09 percent; Recel Elumba, Jose Rizal Memorial State University, 83.065 percent; Rieland J. Cuevas, UP, 82.87 percent; Betlee-Kyle T. Barraquias, AdMU, 82.83 percent; June Steve G. Barredo, University of St. La Salle, 82.805 percent; Charles Kenneth F. Lijauco, UP, 82.795 percent; and Pierre Angelo C. Reque II, UST, 82.795 percent.
